Saturday

We had a great Saturday!!! Started off the day by sleeping in until 8:30. We had gone to bed around 10, so it was a lot of sleep! hehe

Scott then went up to Brenda's and picked up our neice, Natalie. She spent most of the day with us today. It was so much fun! She just started 1st grade and is just getting to be such a big girl!! We dropped her back off at home around 3:30 and headed up to CR.

We went to Jenny and Kevin Hahn's house for a visit, BBQ and baby spoiling!! It was the first time I had seen Kasia since she was born and man is she cute as a button!!! She had just started a new thing today, by sticking her tongue out of the side of her mouth! Too cute!! I took a couple of pics so everyone could see her and Jen. Jenny is talking about starting her own blog, but I let her know I would post some pics for her in the meantime! ;-) We had such a great visit, talked about high school days, reunions, etc. Can you believe that in only 3 years we'll have our 15th class reunion?!?!?!?!?! Good grief, where did the time go???? Jenny, if you're reading this, thanks again for a great time!!! We must do it again soon!!!

I'm posting this about and hour and a half after my regular bedtime, so that Adyson has some run around time before she goes back in her kennel. (She was pretty spastic when we got home from Jenny and Kevin's!)

I'm hoping for a rainy day tomorrow, so that we can stay at home and veg. We'll see how it goes.....if it's nice we are taking Maddie, Natalie and Nic fishing at Central Park and I will post a few more pics. (I think I'm finally getting the hang of it..hehe) Take care!!

Mason....

I thought you guys might get a kick out of seeing some pics of Mason. The first one is of him hanging out at our house after my 30th birthday party. The one of him and I is the one taken in Galena, when we were on our way to the triathlon. I still can't get over the fact that he's a senior!!!!!

Our kids....

When we got home from Central Park on Sunday, Scott dumped the ice out of the cooler into the tree ring. Adyson, our little hotbox, plopped right down in the pile and then started chomping on the biggest block. Oliver saw that he wasn't in on the treat, so decided to join her. hehe

I DID IT!!!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!! Here's some pictures we took last Sunday out at Central Park. We had such a great time!!! The first pic is Uncle Scott teaching Maddie how to cast her Barbie fishing pole. (She's a quick learner!!) There's a pic of Scott, Maddie and I. Maddie is wearing her "sexy" shirt. I told Melinda she better look out for that girl!! hehe The last pic is Macy, Melinda and I. I'll download some more pics as soon as I check that this made it ok.

Help!?!?!

Ok, what the heck am I doing wrong? I've got tons of pictures to put on this thing, but I can't figure out how to do it. I go to the "add image" icon, browse to find my pic and then upload to blogger. The only problem is when go to preview to make sure it's attached, it doesn't show any pictures. Scoot said he would be able to do it, but can't figure it out either. If anyone can shed light on this....I would appreciate it!! :-)

Anyhoo, I will fill you guys in on the big weekend. Had a great day on Saturday. Gpa Gutzeit was in rare joke telling form. I think sometimes he cracks himself up more than anyone else. He also told me some stories of Dad when he was about 2/3. It was neat to hear some of things! My Gpa's cousin Ron was there too and they were telling me about the wood box contraption that houses had when they were boys. It was pretty cool.

After coffee with Gpa, I met Mason at Happy Joe's in Monti to head up to Mom's. I can't get over how much he's grown up in the past couple of years. It seems like just yesterday that he was born and now he's going to be a SENIOR!!! Man alive do I feel old!! He's such a good kid too. He's actually my movie buddy. Scott hates going to the movie theater, so anytime there's a movie out that I really want to see, I get ahold of Mason and we go. I can watch a totally stupid movie, but once he starts crackin up on it...I start cracking up. We had a really great time at Mom's, had a nice visit. It's really great to be connecting with her!!

When I got home, I got ready for date night!!! The only thing I knew before we left was that we were headed to Dubuque. Scott found out that there was a Red Robin there (it was one of our favorite places to eat in California) and we went there for supper. Then we went to Old Navy and shopped a little bit. By the time we were done, I was exhausted. I ended up falling asleep in the car before we hit 151 to go home! Poor Scoot!! By the time we got home I was revived and we sat up and watched "Two for the Money" (??) with Matthew McCaunaghy(sp?) and Al Pacino. It was pretty good.

We just got back a little bit ago from Central Park. We went there for a BBQ and met Dad and the kids there. It was so much fun. It was a gorgeous day, about 75 degrees, sunny and breezy. Uncle Scott found a Barbie fishing pole for Maddie and proceeded to show her how to cast it. She was so excited and actually got the hang of it really quickly. Pretty soon she was casting it, reeling it in, over and over. It was so cute!

Melinda hadn't gotten the pics of Disneyworld developed yet, so we had to settle for Maddie Moe's rendition. When she gets really excited and really into a story, her hands move faster and faster. hehe Her favorite part was "Small World" and the airplane ride. She said that the airplane went around a big curve and it was really cool!!! She did not like Splash Mountain...Melinda said that she cried the whole way thru it...it was her first ride, so I think that added to the scariness of it. She ended up loving the bigger rides and, by the sounds of it, went on every one they could. She was even really good about standing in lines for rides, which surprised me since she is not the most patient girl in the world! hehe

I took Adyson for our 2 mile walk tonight when we got home. How she manages to pee in every other yard I will never know. hehe

Scott dumped the ice out of our cooler inside the tree ring in the front yard and Adyson laid down in it. I got a couple of pics, but won't be able to show you until we can figure out how to post them. grrrrr

Well, I suppose I should go for now. I'm reading a really good FBI thriller by Catherine Coulter right now. It's the 3rd book of hers I've read and I am addicted!!!! Again if anyone can let us know about the how picture posting thing, I will add some pics to the stories I put in here.

Have a great day!

TGIF!!!!!!!!

Ok, so now that I have a regular Monday thru Friday job, I can really look forward to the weekend! Then again, I don't remember any Wed/Thurs combination of days off that ever went as fast as Sat/Sun?!?! Why is that?

I just got a call from Scott, who went out with the guys after work today, saying that he's on his way home. One of the guys he works with is leaving, so they took him out for beers. I really should have called some of my friends and gone out for some cocktails, but the thought of being home for a couple of hours with no TV or any other annoying noise sounded awesome!

This weekend should be busy again. Mason and I are heading up to meet Gpa Gutzeit @ the Grove for coffee and to shoot the shit with Gpa and some of his old friends. It's a lot of fun listening to some of the old stories, and, depending on the crowd, we sometimes get to hear some pretty great jokes! I've got one I'm taking that Tonia Barnhart sent to me that CRACKED ME UP!! After the Grove, Mason and I are heading up to Garber, IA...that's where my mom lives. We're going to visit with her for a while and then come back sometime in the afternoon.

I've dropped some pretty big hints to Scott that I would like to have a "date night" Saturday night. Let's see if he's called anyone to make any plans?!?!?! hehe

Sunday we are having lunch here with Dad, Melinda and Maddie, Macy and Mason. Melinda and Maddie get back from Disneyworld tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to Miss Maddie relaying all of the excitement! She called me last Saturday from the airport in CR and said, "Hello Aunt Lissa, it's Maddie Moe. We are at the airport right now.....we're GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!!" She screamed that part....man, that kid cracks me up! She's going to be 5 in October, but she talks like a 12 year old sometimes...it's kind of scary!

I'll take some pictures of my adventures this weekend and have Scoot show me how to put them on this Blog. I'll catch on to it someday. ;-) Well, that's all for now. Have a great day!

Here's some pictures....

And so it begins.....

Well, I've decided that I really am terrible at keeping in contact with everyone! I don't know why it took me 13 odd years to figure that out! hehe I enjoy reading some of my old friends', from high school, blogs so much that I thought I would start my own.

To catch everyone up to speed, we've had a lot of new and exciting things happen this year. First and foremost, Scott and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in May!!! Where has the time gone?? Oh that's right....the Navy got most of it! hehe It's really nice that both Scott and I have regular hour jobs now! We actually get to make plans for the weekends, can have supper together (when I feel like cooking) every night of the week.

We bought our very first home in May! We have actually been living in the house since we moved back to Iowa in December of 2003, but made it officially ours this year! No more base housing (Lemoore, CA), renting a ridiculously small townhouse for an even more ridiculous price(Virginia Beach). For those of you who don't know, we live in Wyoming, IA now. I know, I know, I said that I would never move back to Iowa, but man do I love the quiet! Too many nights of listening to the F18 jets flying overhead!!!

In July, I did something I never in my life thought that I would do.....completed a Triathlon!!! I thought I was going to die when I first started training. After 7 months of training and 34 pounds of weight loss, I feel like it was one of the best things I have ever done!! I'm looking forward to doing another tri next year, and I'm seriously considering doing RAGBRAI. Or maybe I'm just nuts?!?!

Also in July we added another member to our family. Adyson, our Austrailian Shepard, has proven to be another one of the great things that happened this year! She's a great dog, very lovable, well mannered and smart as a whip. Oliver, our beagle, had to make very few adjustments to get used to her and has even managed to drop of few "old pup" pounds by running in the backyard w/ Ady. Storm, our Siamese cat, is pretty pissed about the whole situation and stays upstairs in the cat domain most of the day.

Well, that's all I'm going to post for today. I can't gaurantee that I will post something everyday, because let's face it, it's just not going to happen! hehe Let me know what you think!

Have a great day!
Lissa
